Vancouver Robotics Team Challenges Others
[2009-1-29] GLCC is proudly sponsoring the Starfox Robotics Team.
The team is composed of engineers from several disciplines who want to test their skills against others in friendly competition.
Originally they were developing an entry for the RoboMagellan competition but that effort awaits resumption of Robothon.
In the meantime the team is preparing an entry for the Vancouver Robotics Club Basic Tabletop Challenge.
Join us in wishing them and their competitors all the best.
UBC Thunderbird Team is Vehicle Ready
[2004-11-17] UBC's DARPA
Grand Challenge 2005 team has selected a name, set up a website, and
taken delivery of a 1991 Jeep Cherokee
Laredo. Team Thunderbird
(formally "UBC-CERM3 Thunderbird Team") is busy with parallel efforts in
mechanical, electronic, and software design, promotion, fundraising, and
project planning. It's an ambitious schedule and we're seeking all
forms of sponsorship. Show your support for the "Canadian" team by
purchasing memorabilia
(available soon), sponsoring
us, or just sending a note of encouragement to info at ubcthunderbird.com.
Vancouver Software Developers Meetup Group Started
[2004-10-19] Guy Lancaster has taken the position of
organizer for the Vancouver Software
Developers Meetup Group. We're planning to meet monthly and
to invite one or two speakers per meeting to make presentations about what
software development companies and educational institutions are doing in the
Greater Vancouver area. The meetings are open to anyone with an
interest in the software development industry.
New Web Interface For HVAC Controllers

[2001-12-19] We're pleased to announce the completion
of the first release of a Web based interface for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation,
& Air Conditioning) controllers. Essentially the system
displays in real-time a graphical model of the HVAC system's components including
ducts, fans, dampers, and pumps, along with status readouts of temperatures
and settings. The system allows operators to monitor and
adjust HVAC systems using their Web browser.
The system could be adapted to controlling any type
of industrial system or equipment. For more information
please contact Guy Lancaster.
